Uday Kumar Reddy Varikuti is an accomplished Research Scientist with a specialization in Machine Learning and Data Science. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, and is actively seeking full-time positions. With over 3 years of experience in Research and Development, Uday has worked on multiple projects involving AI, embedded programming, simulations, and HMI design/development. He has a keen interest in developing cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning-based solutions for multiple domains and platforms. Uday has worked as a Research and Development Engineer in the Advanced Cockpit Simulations team at Honeywell, where he developed tools and platforms at the intersection of AI, embedded programming, aircraft simulation, and HMI design/development. He evaluated several low-footprint facial recognition algorithms for the aircraft cockpit and implemented a C++ and MXNet based facial recognition pipeline, deploying it within 6 weeks. He also developed and maintained the simulation platform for prototyping flight-controls, auto-pilot, guidance, and aircraft displays for UAM (Urban Air Mobility) vehicles. Currently, Uday is working as a Vision Systems Intern at Nio, where he is involved in developing machine learning models for autonomous driving. He has also worked as a student researcher under Prof. Pamela Cosman at UC San Diego, where he developed machine learning models to estimate body orientation using LiDAR data. The goal was to create a technology-enabled training and coaching system for young adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Uday holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from B.M.S. College of Engineering. He is proficient in ML, Research Scientist, AI, Deep Learning, and Data Scientist. With 2.52 years of relevant experience, Uday is a highly skilled and motivated individual who is passionate about leveraging his expertise to develop innovative solutions.
